Bregman's new Adidas deal comes as the Astros extended him for six years and $100MGETTY IMAGES

Adidas signed a multiyear partnership with Astros 3B Alex Bregman, who will be featured in upcoming brand marketing campaigns and collaborate on the creation of future Adidas baseball products. Other Adidas MLB endorsers include Yankees RF Aaron Judge, Red Sox DH J.D. Martinez, Cubs 3B Kris Bryant and Astros SS Carlos Correa (Adidas). In Houston, Marcy de Luna noted Bregman is the latest Astros player to partner with local grocer H-E-B, as he will appear in new ads alongside Correa, CF George Springer and 2B Jose Altuve. The spots will premiere on TV and H-E-B's YouTube channel on April 5, coinciding with the Astros' home opener against the A's. In one commercial, the players "go head-to-head competing in poetry, singing, dancing and juggling contests in the battle to win the role of spokesperson" for H-E-B Creamy Creations Ice Cream. Another spot sees the foursome "play a game of chess on a giant chess board, paint artwork and form a rock band" (CHRON.com, 3/19).

RISING PROFILE: In Houston, Jenny Dial Creech wrote Bregman, who yesterday signed a six-year, $100M extension, "might be becoming the face of the Astros." He finished last season fifth in the AL MVP voting and "became a household name beyond Houston." This season, he is also on the cover of MLB's "RBI Baseball 19." His "knack for the dramatic hit has also raised Bregman’s Q rating." There is a "side of Bregman that can’t help but command attention." His "dugout stare into TV cameras became a ... sensation" last year. He is a "frequent poster/provocateur on Twitter and Instagram, and during the offseason he became the first major leaguer with his own YouTube channel," which now has over 80,000 subscribers. According to athlete marketing platform opendorse, Bregman was "by far the most engaging major leaguer during the offseason." Between his Instagram and Twitter accounts, he "generated 4.29 million engagements, over 2.5 million more" than the runner-up, Blue Jays P Marcus Stroman (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 3/19).
