ACC Network Content Will Include New Daily Studio Show

A daily morning talk show hosted by noted ACC personalities Wes Durham and Mark Packer is "expected to anchor" the ACC Network when it launches on Aug. 22, according to Jonathan Alexander of the Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER. The show, which will air from 7:00-10:00am ET, will "broadcast live from a new studio constructed in Packer’s Charlotte basement," and it will serve as the "morning version of Paul Finebaum’s afternoon show on the SEC Network." Durham, who has done ACC play-by-play since '11 for outgoing rightsholder Raycom Sports, will now do "play-by-play for basketball and football games for the ACC Network and relocate to Charlotte from the Atlanta area." Other programming announced on Friday includes a one-hour documentary called “The Class That Saved Coach K,” and a multi-part film called “The Tournament: A History Of ACC Basketball” (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 3/16).

FIRST FOUR IN: ESPN revealed that four men's basketball games will air on ACC Network at the start of the '19-20 season: Louisville-Miami and Georgia Tech-N.C. State on Nov. 5, followed by Virginia-Syracuse and Notre Dame-North Carolina on Nov. 6. ESPN "confirmed Friday its latest ACC Network carriage deal, with DirecTV." Commissioner John Swofford: "I don't think we could be better off than where we are. There's still more to do, without question" (DAILYPRESS.com, 3/15).
