Grant Thornton Kicks Off Latest Campaign With Rickie Fowler Ad

Grant Thornton is "kicking off its latest advertising campaign with two new TV spots set to air during the Players Championship" featuring ambassador Rickie Fowler, according to Kyle O'Brien of THE DRUM. Fowler returns to continue the "Obvious Change" campaign with his new spot, which "highlights some of the frustrations of working with professional services firms, and positions Grant Thornton as a different kind of service provider." The premise behind the ad "Tailor" is that the clothier Fowler is working with "doesn’t know how to tailor anything to his personal needs." As he "stands in front of a mirror, first in his signature colorful golf outfit and hat, an opinionated tailor listens as Fowler says he wants to make a statement, but in his style." Fowler ends up in a "plaid suit, ascot and straw hat, which is definitely not him." The ads, created in collaboration with Gyro, Chicago/Denver, will debut on Saturday and are "scheduled to run on TV and online" (THEDRUM.com, 3/14).

IMITATION GAME: GOLFWEEK's Bill Speros noted Tiger Woods in a new Bridgestone ad is "matched word-for-word by actor and impressionist Conor Moore" (GOLFWEEK.com, 3/14). GOLF DIGEST's Coleman Bentley wrote, "Pretty good stuff all around from Conor." He "nails the signature Tiger collar adjustment," as well as "iconic nose-tug-and-sniff maneuver." His delivery is also "solid, drilling down on Tiger's trademark 'really' pronunciation while bringing his sigh to full, exasperated life" (GOLFDIGEST.com, 3/14).
