Pixellot Signs Major Deal To Provide Automated Video To PlayOn! Sports

AI-focused sports production firm Pixellot has struck a seven-year, $80M contract extension with PlayOn! Sports to provide automated video production to U.S. high schools. Pixellot’s systems are based on unmanned panoramic cameras, which allow for more affordable multi-feed productions, and have the ability to embed graphics and ads and generate automated highlights. The extension contemplates the installation of more than 20,000 systems at various high schools, allowing for the live broadcast of more than 1 million events per year. PlayOn! Sports operates the subscription-based NFHS Network in partnership with the National Federation of State High School Associations. “This extension is clear evidence the partnership is working, and we have high ambitions going forward,” said Pixellot U.S. President Doug Billman. “And the beauty of what we’re doing is that it’s not just football and basketball. These systems are for both indoor and outdoor use, and once they’re installed, they can be for everything.” Pixellot last fall completed a $30M Series B funding round. “Our relationship has exceeded every expectation and we look forward to bringing this solution to every high school in the U.S.,” said PlayOn! Sports CEO David Rudolph.
