Senators Offer Season-Ticket Incentives To Attract More Fans

Average Senators home attendance has fallen from 15,422 last season to 14,344 in 34 games this yearGETTY IMAGES

The last-place Senators have a "lot of hard work to do to get people back to the Canadian Tire Centre," as the team this week launched its '19 season-ticket plan with a campaign called "The Seventh: Season Seat Members Club," according to Bruce Garrioch of the OTTAWA SUN. Senators COO Nicolas Ruszkowski said that the club "knows it won't be easy, but it's listening to its customers and recognizes the disappointment." Garrioch noted the team has "done a media blitz in the past few days and launched an initiative that targets season-ticket holders." The Senators' average home attendance has "fallen from 15,422 last season to 14,344 in 34 games this season." Ruszkowski said, "The best thing I can tell you about The Seventh is, by expressing directly to the fan base, 'We appreciate you, we need you, we value you,' and we've created a program that is based entirely on the feedback to us." The Senators are "trying to give their season-ticket holders added value." The team will offer some season-ticket holders the "opportunity to visit the locker room with a player or, perhaps, have a lunch with a group of the players." The club also will offer a 20% "discount on concessions and merchandise" to season-ticket holders. Senators CMO Aimee Deziel said that the team has "either frozen or dropped the price" of 86% of seats (OTTAWA SUN, 3/9).
