ACC's Nora Lynn Finch Leaves Lasting Impact On Women's Hoops

The ACC Women's Basketball Tournament begins today in Greensboro, with Senior Associate Commissioner/Women's Basketball NORA LYNN FINCH managing the event "one last time" before retiring at the end of the academic year, according to Ed Hardin of the Greensboro NEWS & RECORD. When Finch walks away from the ACC and women’s college basketball, neither will "ever be the same." Finch has been in her current role since '08, and in June she will be inducted into the Women’s Basketball HOF. Finch said, "I’m going to miss a lot. I’ll miss the people in the ACC office." Hardin notes Finch is "known everywhere she goes." She is "always smiling, always upbeat, there are no challenges she’s not up to and no tasks she’s unwilling to tackle." She has been "moving and shaking the game to its core, dragging coaches, administrators and the NCAA along kicking and screaming." Her imprint is "on everything" in women's college basketball. She said the sport is in the "best shape it’s been in a long time" (Greensboro NEWS & RECORD, 3/6). Finch was an SBJ "Game Changers" honoree in '15.
