NFL Could Move Some Combine Events To Primetime Next Year

Some primetime workouts could potentially be held at a new Rams/NFL Network campus in L.A. NFL

The NFL is "considering moving at least one day and perhaps more of the combine workouts to evening TV as soon as next year," according to sources cited by Peter King of NBCSPORTS.com. The move would be "not only to spike the TV ratings, but also perhaps to get the NFL's new Rams/NFL Network campus that's being built" in L.A. to "host at least some" of the primetime workouts. One idea that has been "thrown around is to have the medical exams in Indianapolis, and then the workouts and player interviews" in L.A. (NBCSPORTS.com, 3/4).

MIXING COVERAGE: In L.A., Tom Hoffarth writes ESPN's decision to move its coverage to ABC for a few hours on Saturday "only made it more awkward" when Trey Wingo said that the "warehouse-looking building in Indianapolis is where 'dreams can take one step closer to being reality ... and hopefully no dreams will be shattered.'" This was "nothing more than a mashup of 'The Bachelor' and 'Project Runway,' with your host, Mel Kiper Jr., assuring us" that former Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins' "horrible 40 time doesn't really matter" (L.A. TIMES, 3/4).

JEREMIAH WAS A BULL FROG: USA TODAY's Nate Davis writes NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah has been "fabulous following his promotion" to the net's "primary draft guru" after Mike Mayock left to become GM of the Raiders (USA TODAY, 3/4).
