NBC Sports' Pete Bevacqua Adding To List Of Responsibilities

NBC Sports Group announced a partial internal reorganization this morning that will see President PETE BEVACQUA add more responsibility, effectively taking total control over the group. As part of the changes, Bevacqua will oversee the Olympics, Production & Operations groups that had previously reported to MARK LAZARUS, the Chair of NBCUniversal Broadcast, Cable, Sports & News. Bevacqua, who will continue to report to Lazarus, will join NBCUniversal’s Exec Committee, which is led by CEO STEVE BURKE. “Since joining our team in September, Pete was assigned to lead a large portion of the division’s businesses, including Programming, Marketing, Digital, Golf and NBC Sports Regional Networks,” Lazarus wrote in an internal memo that was distributed this morning. “During that time, he made immediate and significant contributions to our division and company.” Lazarus last month was promoted to oversee NBC News Group, CNBC, cable entertainment, NBC-owned TV stations and NBC affiliate relations. Bevacqua, 47, is a Notre Dame alum, which aligns well with one of NBC’s properties.
