The Univ. of Georgia has extended AD GREG MCGARITY's contract by one year that will retain him through June '20. McGarity's current contract that pays him $650,000 annually was set to expire on June 30. He will again get a $25,000 raise in salary and another $50,000 in retention bonus (ONLINEATHENS.com, 2/20)....The NFLPA promoted Deputy Managing Dir & Special Counsel TERI PATTERSON SMITH to acting COO. Smith was an SBJ/SBD "Forty Under 40" honoree in '15 (THE DAILY)....Whistle Sports named ALISON MEYER VP/Marketing. She will report to Whistle President & COO MICHAEL COHEN. Meyer was previously women's lifestyle site Refinery29 VP/Marketing Solutions & Client Services (VARIETY.com, 2/19)...The Outback Bowl named former Miami Beach Bowl VP/Operations BLAKE GUTHRIE Dir of Community Partnerships (Adam Stern, THE DAILY). Meanwhile, Outback Bowl Dir of Sales JERRY KULIG will retire next month. He has been on staff with the bowl for nearly 27 years (BIZJOURNALS.com, 2/20).
