Foundation Started For Children Of Late Sports Exec Mike Redlick

There was a tribute to the late MIKE REDLICK at the National Sports Forum held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas yesterday morning. Redlick, who taught sports business at the UCF Devos Sports Management program after stints with the 49ers, Grizzlies and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, was found dead in his Florida home in early January. Longtime friend ANDY DOLICH, with Ohio Univ.'s JIM KAHLER and Seaver Marketing Group’s RON SEAVER standing at his side, shared memories of Redlick, who frequently attended the event. The three announced the creation of a scholarship fund to support Redlick’s two children, JADYN, 15, and SAWYER, 11. Those interested in making a contribution to the Jadyn and Sawyer Redlick Scholarship Fund can donate through GoFundMe or send a check to the fund, c/o Gottleib Wealth Management, 2173 Salk Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008. The GoFundMe has already raised more than $29,000. Dolich closed by saying, “All of us in the world of sports depend on each other every day. Now is the time to support the future of Jadyn and Sawyer. They are now a part of our family.”

EVENT ROUNDUP: Ohio Univ. won the '19 Sports Forum Case Competition, beating out 12 other graduate programs who participated. Ohio’s program was led by Dir MATTHEW CACCIATO. Teams of four were given a case and had 24 hours to respond and present it to a group of independent judges. The case focused on developing strategic ideas to help the business of the USL Las Vegas Lights and their jersey sponsor, Las Vegas-based Zappos. Teams were charged to build a tactical marketing plan to increase ticket and merchandise sales for the Lights FC, as well as increase Zappos’ sales of Lights FC merchandise while also driving new business and customers for Zappos. Second place went to the Univ. of Nebraska-Lincoln, led by Dir SCOTT FUESS. Third place went to George Washington Univ., led by Dir LISA DELPY NEIROTTI.

MAKING AN IMPACT: Olympia Entertainment Corporate Partnerships Sales Manager KERI GALLAGHER won the OM Foundation award that recognizes individuals who make an impact in the community outside their day job. Gallagher is the director of the non-profit Rebel Nell, which seeks to employ women facing barriers to employment in Detroit. The OM Foundation, founded and inspired by BONNER PADDOCK, promotes the idea that any one person can make a difference if they dedicate themselves to look beyond their own personal limits to achieve their goals (THE DAILY).
