Antetokounmpo Expands Sponsor Portfolio With New T-Mobile Deal

Bucks F Giannis Antetokounmpo has added a "major commercial endorsement" in advance of this weekend's NBA All-Star Game, signing a deal with Metro by T-Mobile, according to Rich Kirchen of the MILWAUKEE BUSINESS JOURNAL. Antetokounmpo and the company agreed to a "long-term partnership that will feature television, digital and social media campaigns starting this week." Terms of the deal "were not disclosed." Metro by T-Mobile is tapping Antetokounmpo to "tout its wireless service and specifically mentions 'big guy' competitors AT&T and Verizon." The campaign was scheduled to debut last night during an NBA doubleheader telecast on TNT. The spot shows Antetokounmpo "slam-dunking in a game of H-O-R-S-E against a much shorter opponent" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 2/12). In Milwaukee, JR Radcliffe noted from his appearance on the cover of the video game NBA 2K19 to "SportsCenter" to ads promoting the NBA for the Chinese New Year, Antetokounmpo continues to "see his profile rise on the court and during the commercial breaks." Yesterday, Antetokounmpo tweeted out a video link that features him as the "central character in the on-flight safety video for Aegean Airlines, an airline based in his native Greece" (JSONLINE.com, 2/12). Antetokounmpo also has endorsement deals with JBL and TCL.
