Overnight Ratings: NBA Leads Weekend; Lefty Boosts Pebble Beach

The NBA led all weekend sports telecasts, with yesterday’s Lakers-76ers drawing a 3.0 overnight rating. That was followed by CBS’ telecast of the final round of the PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am yesterday, which drew a 2.6 overnight. With Phil Mickelson holing a three-stroke lead, the event’s finish had to be pushed to today due to weather and darkness. CBS was up 73% from last year’s Sunday Pebble Beach telecast, in which Ted Potter Jr. held off Dustin Johnson. Coming in at No. 3 over the weekend was Duke-Virginia on Saturday night on ESPN, with that matchup of top five teams drawing a 2.3 overnight.

NOTES: The Grammy Awards drew a 13.0 overnight last night, up from a 12.7 last year....Fox’ Daytona 500 pole qualifying yesterday afternoon drew a 1.2 overnight, down from a 1.4. Just after that telecast, FS1 drew a 1.4 overnight for the Advance Auto Parts Clash, up from a 1.3 last year.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV.
