La Vida Baseball Senior Editor Jose de Jesus Ortiz: "Idelson is a true gentleman and great at his job. He’s has an amazing run at the Hall and in professional sports." Marlins radio broadcaster Glenn Geffner: "Happy for Jeff, who spent a quarter of a century at the Hall, but I’m sad for Baseball. Someone will have enormous shoes to fill." The Athletic's Jayson Stark: "⁦@HallofFamePrez⁩ will be harder to replace than Adrian Beltre, Joe Mauer & Chase Utley combined!" (TWITTER.com, 2/5).
