Golovkin was offered a two-fight deal by DAZN worth in the neighborhood of $45MGETTY IMAGES
Boxing free agent Gennady Golovkin has "spearheaded several meetings with suitors over the past few months," and now it is "down to two: PBC and DAZN," according to sources cited by Mike Coppinger of RING TV. Sources said that Golovkin met with Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn and DAZN Exec Chair John Skipper yesterday morning in L.A. Hearn "made an improved offer to GGG two weeks ago, and he believed" that yesterday’s meeting was "meant to finalize details." Sources said that the offer is a "two-fight deal worth in the neighborhood" of $45M. If Golovkin signs with DAZN, the plan is for him to "return in May or June, and it’s possible he could be matched with middleweight titleholder Demetrius Andrade." The second fight of the deal "would pit Golovin against Canelo Alvarez in a third meeting." Sources said that PBC also "presented a two-fight deal that would pay Golovkin eight figures per fight," one of which would be a PPV bout with Jermall Charlo (RINGTV.com, 1/30).
