Sources: Raiders Expected To Play Home Games In Bay Area In '19

Playing Raiders games at the 49ers' Levi's Stadium reportedly is the preferred choice of the NFLGETTY IMAGES

The Raiders "will play in the Bay Area" next season, but it is not yet clear "what stadium" will house them, according to sources cited by CBSSN's Jason La Canfora. La Canfora: "They continue to talk to the league office about this and I'm told they did sight studies in San Francisco last week as well.” La Canfora said the Raiders playing at Levi’s Stadium “would be the preferred choice of the league.” But CBSSN’s Amy Trask said the team can still "play in Oakland even with litigation pending." Trask: "Parties to litigation do that all the time. They enter into very, very simple, straightforward agreements that are called reservations of rights where you and I may have a litigation dispute, you reserve your rates in the litigation, I reserve mine, but we find a way to do business together in the interim. That’s the best thing for the team, it’s the least disruptive, it’s the most logistically practical and it’s the nicest thing for the fans" (“Super Bowl Live,” CBSSN, 1/28). PRO FOOTBALL TALK's Michael David Smith reported the Raiders have "begun the process of calling season ticket holders and telling them that they don’t know where they are going to play next season, but ticket representatives will stay in touch." The team is "already accepting $100 deposits to buy season tickets in Las Vegas" in '20, but there is "no way to buy season tickets for the 2019 season, because the Raiders don’t know where their home stadium will be" (PROFOOTBALLTALK.com, 1/28).
