MLS Fire Unveil New Motorola-Sponsored Jerseys For '19

Schweinsteiger (c) was among the players showing off the jerseys during an event at the club’s pop-up shopFIRE

The Fire last night debuted the uniforms they will wear this season after agreeing to a three-year jersey sponsorship with Motorola. The club also unveiled a new white secondary jersey at the event. Both its secondary and red primary jerseys will have the Motorola logo on them. Fire MF Bastian Schweinsteiger, MF Dax McCarty and F Nemanja Nikolic were among the players showing off the jerseys during an event at the club’s pop-up shop in the Wrigley Building. The three-year deal with Motorola includes the rights to both the first team jersey and the training kit. However, unlike the club’s deal with Valspar, it will not include rights to the academy and youth team jerseys. It also does not include the rights to the sleeve patch that MLS clubs will be able to sell starting in '20. The Fire's deal with Valspar expired following last season. That deal, signed in ’15, was valued at around $3M annually, according to sources. Terms of the new deal were not disclosed. The Fire hired Navigate Research last summer to assist in finding a new jersey partner.
