NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that league is "considering playing a regular-season game in Paris next year" after the league's "ninth successive year" of playing at least one game in London, according to Steven Griffiths of the AFP. Silver admitted that he was "looking to tap into the large basketball fan-base in France." He hinted that a game will be "scheduled for Paris, possibly instead of the London fixture." Silver: "It is something we are looking at very closely, to play a game in Paris next season." Griffiths noted France has a "thriving basketball culture" and there are "currently nine French players" in the NBA. Silver said the league has "played many exhibitions in Paris over the years" and added they "look forward to coming back." Griffiths noted whether the "proposed Paris match would replace London instead of being part of a double-bill remains to be decided" (AFP, 1/17).
