Former NBC Sports Exec Seth Winter To Lead Sports Ad Sales For New Fox

Former NBC Sports Exec VP/Sales & Marketing SETH WINTER is "joining Fox in a similar role, taking over a critical position at the company as it focuses more intently on live programming and sports content," according to Brian Steinberg of VARIETY. Winter "will report" to Fox News President of Advertising Sales MARIANNE GAMBELLI, who was "named president last year of what will be ad-sales operations at the 'new' Fox." She and Winter are "former colleagues." Meanwhile, a source said that Fox Exec VP/Sports Sales NEIL MULCAHY is "expected to stay with the company for another year." The source added that Mulcahy will continue in his current role, and "assist Winter in a transition, then leave the company after its broadcast of Super Bowl LIV" in '20. The source also said that Mulcahy, who has worked for Fox for 32 years, "chose the new role and was supported by Gambelli." Winter left NBC in October '16 and "became a consultant with the company, a role he was expected to carry out" through '18 (VARIETY.com, 1/15). AD AGE's Anthony Crupi reported Winter will "officially board the Fox ship" after the $71.3B sale of its studio and cable entertainment assets to Disney (ADAGE.com, 1/15).
