Turkey said that it would "seek the extradition" of Knicks C ENES KANTER after his alleged involvement with the "movement of cleric FETHULLAH GULEN, which Turkey regards as a terrorist organization." Turkey has "sought government help to publicize an arrest warrant" for Kanter through Interpol. Kanter said that he would "refrain from traveling outside the U.S. for fear of being arrested," and therefore did not accompany the Knicks on their trip to London for tomorrow's game against the Wizards (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 1/16).

COURT REPORT: An appellate court has ruled that the ex-wife of late former NFLer MOSI TATUPU is "not eligible to collect on his remaining retirement benefits" from the league. Tatupu was "posthumously diagnosed" with CTE after dying of a heart attack in '10. The ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit affirms a '17 decision of U.S. District Court Judge DOUGLAS WOODLOCK (BOSTON HERALD, 1/16).

NEWS FROM PULLMAN: The Steve Gleason Neuroscience Institute at Washington State will "launch later this year with $500,000 in initial funding" (SPOKESMAN.com, 1/16)....The "Hilinski's Hope" foundation started by the family of late former WSU QB TYLER HILINSKI "announced a major partnership" with the NCAA's Sport Science Institute (SEATTLETIMES.com, 1/15).

NAMES: The AP's DOUG FERGUSON was named the recipient of the '19 PGA Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism. Ferguson will be honored April 11 at by the Golf Writers Association of America in Augusta (PGA)....The Celtics and the GE Foundation "teamed up once again, hitting the road with their 'Brilliant Career Play' mobile STEM lab and bringing it to one lucky, local school."
