Buyers & Sellers: Mark Cuban Buys Laguna Beach Home For $19M

Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN bought a home on the grounds of The Montage resort in Laguna Beach, Calif., for $19M. The house is one of 13 "private home sites at the Montage Residences." Homebuyers get "access to the hotel -- and can ring for the concierge, housekeeping and room service." Built in '10, the 7,867-square-foot contemporary house has "six bedrooms and eight bathrooms." The deal, which closed last week, is "among the highest priced home sales in Orange County" in '18 and is said to the "most expensive one at the Montage this year." Cuban is "expected to use the house as a vacation home" (DAILYNEWS.com, 12/22). 

BEACH BANK: Canucks co-Owner ROBERTO AQUILINI sold his home in Malibu for $11.75M. Set on 60 feet of beach frontage, the property "takes in unobstructed ocean views from two levels." Within the nearly 4,200 square feet of space are a "step-down living room with a corner fireplace, a dining area and a chef's kitchen." There is also a "library and a bar." Walls of glass "line the master suite, which has a sky-lit closet and a half-covered patio." There are "four bedrooms and five bathrooms" (LATIMES.com, 12/27).

BUYERS & SELLERS: SHAQUILLE O'NEAL put his home in Windermere, Fla., back on the market for $21.99M after previously listing the property in May for $28M. The estate spans 3 acres and "offers 12 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms" across 31,000 square feet. Highlights include a 6,000-square-foot "basketball court, a 17-car showroom and a 95-foot-long swimming pool dubbed 'Shaq-apulco.'" His Superman logo "accents the movie theater and master suite bed, as well as a fish tank set into a mural that depicts a Shaq-driven semi-truck." Other living spaces include a "formal dining room, center-island kitchen, wood-paneled office, billiard room and cigar bar with a walk-in humidor." Farther in, an Egyptian-style room with "aquariums and hieroglyphics is centered by a triangular fish tank" (LATIMES.com, 12/20)....Former NHLer MATT BELESKEY listed his home in Newton, Mass., for $2.499M. The 6,500-square-foot home has "six bedrooms and six bathrooms." The home includes a "gas fireplace, his-and-hers dressing rooms, custom California Closets and an en-suite bathroom equipped with heated floors, a massive bathtub and a steam shower" (BOSTONHERALD.com, 12/20)....Former NFLer ALDON SMITH sold his home in San Jose for $2.562M. The 10-acre property has a "three-story home, a guest cottage and a swimming pool that takes in panoramic views of the city below." The 6,427-square-foot main home has "seven bedrooms and six bathrooms." A two-story foyer with a "sweeping staircase opens the dramatic interior." Entered through "sliding farmhouse doors, the master suite is anchored by a corner fireplace and opens to a spacious balcony." A "billiards room, loft and movie theater with a wet bar round out the interior" (LATIMES.com, 12/26).
