Seahawks Not Currently For Sale Under Jody Allen's Ownership

Indications are that the Seahawks are "not currently for sale" in the wake of the death of Owner Paul Allen, according to Bob Condotta of the SEATTLE TIMES. Allen's sister, Jody, has been "dealing first with other more urgent matters relating to Allen’s estate and is fine to leave the Seahawks as is for a while." The team's estimated value of $2.7B will "only go up," and the club is in "good shape and running smoothly" under Vice Chair Bert Kolde. He is "keeping a closer-than-ever watch on things, and it appears everyone is fine with the status quo for a while." Seahawks coach Pete Carroll "seemed to indicate that" in a comment to reporters on Monday around his his extension through '21. Carrol said of himself and Exec VP & GM John Schneider, "We love this team, excited about what has happened with ownership and really feel like, it feels like we are just getting started." Condotta notes Jody Allen was named in a statement announcing Carroll’s extension as Seahawks Chair and Trustee of the Paul G. Allen Trust, and indications are that is a "full title she could hold for a while" (SEATTLE TIMES, 12/26).
