Jay Frye Becoming President Of IndyCar, Miles Retaining CEO Role

IndyCar President of Competition & Operations JAY FRYE's "responsibilities are expanding," as he will become IndyCar President on Jan. 1, according to the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. Current CEO MARK MILES "will remain IndyCar's chief executive." IndyCar Chief of Staff for Competition & Operations MARK SIBLA "will become chief of staff for all IndyCar departments." The moves "come in response to the resignation" of IndyCar CMO C.J. O'DONNELL, "effective at the end of the year" (INDYSTAR.com, 12/17). NBCSPORTS.com's Jerry Bonkowski noted under the new structure, IndyCar VP/Communications CURT CAVIN and a "still-to-be-named replacement for O’Donnell will report directly to Frye." Several promotions at Indianapolis Motor Speedway were also announced, including: Exec Dir of Events JARROD KRISILOFF to VP/Facilities & Events; DAN SKIVER to Dir of Operations; PAT GARLOCK to Assistant Manager of Facilities & Events; and ALEX DAMRON to Senior Dir of Communications for IMS and Hulman Co. Damron will also "oversee corporate communications" (NBCSPORTS.com, 12/17).
