In West Palm Beach, Brian Biggane notes the local PGA Tour Champions event will have a "new title sponsor," as HR firm Oasis Outsourcing becomes the "first South Florida-based sponsor for the event." Allianz Insurance "sponsored the event for the first 10 years of its existence" before pulling out in '16, prompting a "variety of entities," led by the city of Boca Raton, to put up the $1.5M sponsorship fee to keep it on the schedule. Oasis’ "first experience with the tournament" came in the '17 pro-am. Negotiations led to a "three-year agreement in early fall" (PALM BEACH POST, 12/12).

GAME. SET. MATCH: FOOTWEAR NEWS' Peter Verry noted Tennis HOFer Stan Smith is "now an Adidas ambassador for life." While his athletic career was stellar, Smith is "widely known for endorsing arguably the brand’s most important sneaker of all time, which bears his name" (FOOTWEARNEWS.com, 12/11).

A PASSAGE TO INDIA PALE ALE: In Ft. Lauderdale, Philip Valys notes Funky Buddha Brewery will brew "Miami Miracle Double Lateral IPA" in honor of the Dolphins victory over the Patriots. Funky Buddha Brewery co-Owner Ryan Sentz said that he "hopes to start pouring" in time Dolphins-Bills on Dec. 30 (South Florida SUN SENTINEL, 12/12).
