The USWNT will play a slate of games over the next five months in preparation for the ’19 Women’s World Cup. Being called the “Countdown to the Cup” by U.S. Soccer, the 10-game, 10-city tour will include eight domestic matches as well as two European games between January and May. The tour will kick off with the two European games in January and will be followed by the fourth annual SheBelieves Cup, an invitational tournament the federation hosts. The tour will also play two games in April and culminate with a send-off series of three games that will be presented by Volpi Foods. The federation is expected to announce more programming and content around the matches, especially the send-off series, as the matches get closer. U.S. Soccer will also host a girls’ fantasy camp around the team’s match in Nashville, running from March 1-4. TV broadcast information for the pre-World Cup matches will be announced at a later date. ESPN and Fox Sports share the rights for USWNT games through their overarching deals with U.S. Soccer and MLS. Univison Deportes holds Spanish-language broadcast rights.
