MLB Looks To Continue Diversity, Inclusion Growth With New Event

MLB will continue its efforts around diversity and inclusion at the upcoming Baseball Winter Meetings in Las Vegas, led by the creation of a new event aimed to place more women in on-field operations roles. The new “Take The Field” program, slated for Friday and Saturday, will be an invitation-based event featuring nearly 50 women currently involved in roles such as umpires, scouts, trainers and coaches. The program will include a variety of panels, workshops and mock interviews, and begin with a keynote address from MiLB President Pat O’Conner. MLB will also hold the second annual Katy Feeney Leadership Symposium, named for the late longtime league executive, focused on career advancement for existing female employees in the sport.
