Bucks Hope New Pro Shop Strategy Will Boost Retail Sales

The Bucks have "decided to flip the script and want to make team gear ubiquitous" by making their team shop at Fiserv Forum more open for fans, regardless of whether there is a game or not, according to James Nelson of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Bucks President Peter Feigin said the store is an "expansion of our brand and our ability to retail on a 35 day basis." Feigin said, "It's different from anything we've ever had before." Nelson noted the Bucks' previous pro shop at BMO Harris Bradley Center was "open only during games, and there weren't many items available in other stores." Now, Fiserv Forum has "four Pro Shops, including the one that's open every day and accessible to anyone -- not just ticket holders." Bucks Dir of Retail Chrysta Jorgensen said that the Bucks last year had "two people assigned to retail sales," but by the end of this year there will be seven on the team. She added, "Going to the Pro Shop is part of going to a game, just as going to a concession stand is part of going to a game." Nelson noted the Bucks now "sell a wide variety of products from multiple versions of jerseys to glassware and baby gear." Having a player like F Giannis Antetokounmpo "makes a big difference as well." On a recent weekday afternoon, "customer after customer walked into the Pro Shop and went right to the rack of Antetokounmpo jerseys." The Bucks do not reveal sales figures, but Feigin said that they "expect big things from the pro shops" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 12/1).
