Overnight Ratings: Woods' Struggles Don't Help Hero World Challenge

Tiger Woods' spot near the bottom of the leaderboard likely led to a dip for NBC's coverage of the Hero World Challenge over the weekend. Saturday's third round coverage drew a 0.8 rating from 2:30-5:00pm ET (1.5 in '17), as Woods was seven shots behind the 36-hole leaders. Yesterday's final round drew a 0.6 overnight on NBC from 1:00-4:00pm, down from a 1.4 last year, as Woods finished 19 shots behind eventual winner Jon Rahm. Woods finished t-9 in last year's event, which marked his first competitive tournament since undergoing back surgery.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV.
