Dynamo, MD Anderson Deal Goes Beyond Jersey Sponsorship

A portion of the Dynamo's ticket sales will go to support MD Anderson Cancer CenterDYNAMO

The Dynamo's new partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center "goes beyond a jersey sponsor," as the club also will "make BBVA Compass Stadium a tobacco-free property," among other initiatives, according to Glynn Hill of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. The team will "contribute a portion of the club's ticket sales to support 'MD Anderson's mission to end cancer' and develop healthy concession menu items for next season." The Dynamo also "committed to donating a portion of single-game ticket sales along with offering fans the option to donate during the ticket purchase process." The club spent the '18 MLS season without a jersey sponsor, "exploring corporate partners throughout the year before the MD Anderson partnership developed this summer." Dynamo Exec VP & CMO David Brady said that the partnership has already "changed the way the Dynamo approach promotions." Brady: "One of the things we're talking about giving away instead of normal hats is bucket hats, because they cover more surface and they're better for being out in the sun." The away jerseys next season will "feature a trio of orange stripes and the words 'MD Anderson Cancer Center' emblazoned across the chest" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 11/29).
