[Webinar] Unlocking the Value of Professional Athletes for Startups

Powered by the NFLPA

A major trend in the sports technology space over the past few years has been the increasing number of professional athletes working with startups. Gone are the days of a player just slapping their name on a restaurant or a car dealership. Today’s savvy athletes are using their brands, expertise, money, and networks to advise, invest in, and work for exciting new ventures in the sports technology industry.

Whether through equity investments, strategic advisory roles, sweat equity, or a number of other ways, athletes are helping build new businesses. Sports technology innovators should view athletes as valuable partners to seek out as they grow their startups.

This webinar will provide an opportunity to hear from entrepreneurial athletes and experts who have succeeded off the field as well as on it. They will discuss the best ways entrepreneurs can approach an athlete in order to get them involved in a startup, and offer advice for how founders can get the most value out of working with professional athletes.

The Experts:

  • Ricky Medina, Senior Manager, Business Development @ NFLPA
  • Kelvin Beachum, Athlete, Investor, Philanthropist @ New York Jets
