Buyers & Sellers: A-Rod Lists Hollywood Hills Home For $6.5M

ALEX RODRIGUEZ has "listed his architectural residence" in the Hollywood Hills West neighborhood of L.A. for $6.5M. The four bedroom, four bathroom home, which was built in '54, features "horizontal louvers that wrap the exterior of the home and provide a privacy screen while diffusing light during the day and night." At the heart of the house is a "two-story living room with a block-wall fireplace that runs from floor to ceilings." Clean lines, a mix of "organic materials and walls of windows reinforce" the house's "modernist roots" (LATIMES.com, 11/12).

PIGSKIN PALACES: Former NFLer TROY POLAMALU has purchased a 3.25 acre Spanish compound in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., "complete with four homes and two pools," for $9M. The property has seven bedrooms, 10.5 bathrooms and 14 custom fireplaces "spread across 12,251 square feet." Vaulted ceilings "top the movie theater and master suite, which expands to a private patio." Outside, a pavilion "overlooks one of the swimming pools." Rose and vegetable gardens and "rolling lawns fill out the grounds, which also hold a tennis court and a five-car showroom that doubles as an amphitheater" (LATIMES.com, 11/12)....Saints WR BRANDON MARSHALL has listed his Mediterranean-style mansion in Southwest Ranches, Fla. for $4.749M. The estate "spans 2.4 acres and centers on a salmon-colored house" built in '11. Within 14,544 square feet of "interior space are six bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms" and an expansive two-story living room. The home also has a "game room with a wet bar, a gym, a loft with built-ins, a movie theater and an office." Outside, a covered patio and pavilion "face a freeform pool and spa with sun shelves" (LATIMES.com, 11/10)....Packers WR RANDALL COBB has sold his Arlington, Va., home for $2.199M. The second floor of the 7,303-square-foot home can be "accessed by floating staircase and elevator," and houses a "loft and master suite, one of five bedrooms with one of 5.5 bathrooms" (LATIMES.com, 11/11).

MOVIN' ON: Former Orioles manager BUCK SHOWALTER is "listing his Baltimore County home" for $1.495M. The 5,579-square-foot Colonial-style home "sits on 1.6 acres in Green Spring Valley" and features five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half bath. The home, which was built in '90, "underwent a renovation" in '09. Showalter and his wife first bought the house in '11 for $1.34M, and have now "moved back to their home in Dallas" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 11/14).
