Late Yankees Owner GEORGE STEINBRENNER is again up for Baseball HOF consideration via the Today’s Game Era committee, and his son, Yankees Managing General Partner HAL STEINBRENNER, argued his father is long overdue for enshrinement. Steinbrenner: “He deserves to be in. I think a lot of other people do, too. It’s just a matter of time and politics and everything. ... It may very well happen this year. There are a lot of people, writers, who believe that it’s a no-brainer.” A vote from that panel will be announced during next month’s Winter Meetings (Eric Fisher, THE DAILY).

NEW BLOOD: Women Leaders in College Sports has selected Big East Commissioner VAL ACKERMAN, Georgia Tech Associate AD/Student-Athlete Development JOELEEN AKIN, Lake Erie College AD KELLEY KISH and UConn COO ADRIANNE SWINNEY to serve as '18-19 BOD members. CIAA Commissioner JACQIE MCWILLIAMS will serve as President (WLCS). 

NAMES: Former Fox Exec Chair RUPERT MURDOCH, in what is expected to be 21st Century Fox' "last meeting with shareholders," yesterday offered "only a brief welcome before turning over the podium" to his oldest son, Fox Exec Chair LACHLAN MURDOCH. Lachlan Murdoch then "paid tribute to his father" (L.A. TIMES, 11/15)....Mets P JACOB DEGROM said that he has "not yet chosen a new agent" after BRODIE VAN WAGENEN left CAA to become the Mets GM. The '18 NL Cy Young award winner said that he is still "trying to figure everything out" after Van Wagenen made his career change (USATODAY.com, 11/14)....Patriots QB TOM BRADY was spotted at "HAMILTON" in Boston on Tuesday night (BOSTON GLOBE, 11/15).
