The Dolphins took to Twitter yesterday in advance of today's midterm elections to "advocate against a gambling-related amendment to Florida's constitution," according to Jay Busbee of YAHOO SPORTS. Amendment 3 is "designed to give voters the 'exclusive right to decide whether to authorize casino gambling in the State of Florida.'" The bill would make the "creation or expansion of gambling businesses a far more difficult proposition." The Dolphins' position is "clear: legalized gambling is here in some parts of the country, and if it's going to come to Florida, it will be much easier without Amendment 3 on the books." Because gambling is "going to be a substantial boon to the NFL and every sports league, the Dolphins don't want to miss out" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 11/5).
