Puma Selects Havas Media As Agency For Buying/Planning

Puma has tapped Havas Media as its new "global media agency for buying and planning following a review," replacing the incumbent, Publicis Media-owned Blue 449, according to Megan Graham of AD AGE. Media consulting company ID Comms "handled the review." The assignment is effective in January. Puma this year has "become more aggressive in the area of basketball," signing a number of top young NBAers. The brand's global media spending is around $120M. Puma until May was part of Paris-based marketer Kering, but Kering "spun off Puma as a standalone public company earlier this year," reducing its stake to about 16% from 86% (ADAGE.com, 10/29).
