La Liga's plans to host a Girona-FC Barcelona match in the U.S. "hit another stumbling block" when FIFA said it "opposed the idea," according to REUTERS. The Spanish Footballers Association (AFE) "opposed the idea from the off" and FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Friday "also rejected the idea, saying league matches had to be played on home soil."
