Secondary Ticket Market Seeing Softness For WS Games In L.A.

Latest data from StubHub shows the get-in price for Friday's Game 3 at Dodger Stadium is $300

The ticket resale market for World Series Game 3-5 this weekend as the scene shifts to Dodger Stadium has fallen sharply in the last two days, due heavily to the Dodgers falling behind 2-0 to the Red Sox. The low-end, get-in portion of the market, which previously had been showing signs of growth compared to the Dodgers’ World Series appearance last year, is particularly off. Latest data from StubHub, MLB’s official resale marketplace, shows the get-in price for Friday's Game 3 is $300, down 42% from $519 two days ago and down 53% from $639 on Tuesday. The average price for all Game 3 tickets sold on StubHub is currently $940, down from $1,061 on Wednesday. Beyond the Dodgers’ current World Series deficit to the Red Sox, Friday's scheduled 5:09pm PT start time also occurs in the heart of rush hour in L.A. The Dodgers last year played their home World Series games on two Tuesdays and two Wednesdays. Saturday's scheduled Game 4 also is showing a marked retreat in low-end pricing -- the current get-in of $408 is down 42% from two days ago, though the current average sales price of $1,149 for Game 4 is roughly even from $1,164 on Wednesday.
