Going Off The Grid: Mascots Discuss Favorite Songs, "Best Friends"

"Going Off The Grid" is a weekly survey of sports execs and personalities offering their thoughts on a handful of pressing (and trivial) issues in sports and pop culture. This week, we talked to mascots from various teams and schools about their "best friends" and movies that made them cry.

  • Gritty (Flyers)
-- Stays in shape over the offseason with pork chops and push ups.
  • Benny (Bulls)
-- Biggest fear is forgetting his pants.
  • Bernie (Brewers)
--Favorite ballpark food is a sausage, but won't pick a favorite, as the Racing Sausages are a little sensitive.
  • Sparky (Arizona State)
-- Favorite place to vacation is Pasadena in January.
  • Chompers (Hartford Yard Goats)
-- Thinks the San Diego Chicken is the G.O.A.T. mascot.
