In N.Y., Keith Kelly reports there is buzz that former NBAer Junior Bridgeman is "closing in on a deal to buy Sports Illustrated from Meredith." Bridgeman may be "teaming up with an even deeper-pocketed partner" in Canadian billionaire and MLSE Chair Larry Tanenbaum and his family’s Toronto-based investment arm, the Kilmer Group (N.Y. POST, 10/24).

WARNING SIGNS: Univision started alerting Dish Network subscribers this morning that its Univision Deportes sports channel could go dark on Dish systems at the end of the month. Univision, UniMás and Galavision all went dark on Dish systems June 30, and the two sides have not been able to work out a deal in the ensuing four months. Univision is pushing its message out via its radio stations, digital platforms and social media (John Ourand, THE DAILY).

DOUBLE COVERAGE: In Jacksonville, Gary Smits notes for the first time in history, ESPN’s "College GameDay" and the SEC Network’s "SEC Nation," will be "broadcasting their pregame shows from the same site, and [at] the same time" ahead of Georgia-Florida at TIAA Bank Field. College GameDay begins at 9:00am ET and SEC Nation at 10:00am, and both will last until noon, "just before the kickoffs of the day’s early games" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 10/24).
