Franchise Notes

NBCSPORTS.com's Peter King writes Rams Owner Stan Kroenke "never thought" the PSL fees the Chargers announced last week "would be so low." The Rams were "thinking the Chargers' contribution" to the Inglewood stadium through PSL fees would be near $400M. Now, the Rams "think they'll be lucky to see" $150M out of the Chargers' PSLs. That could "mean another big chunk for Kroenke to pay" (NBCSPORTS.com, 10/22).

COME ONE, COME ALL: Senators GM Pierre Dorion said that the team's attendance is a "frequently discussed topic." He said of the team's presence in Ottawa, "I hope our fans in the city can get behind us and grow with us." Dorion: "The fans that come really cheer us on loud. If people can understand the process ... we're asking our fans to be patient. But at the same time, come and see us. It's exciting." Senators coach Guy Boucher said fans that "haven't bought tickets yet better hurry up." In Ottawa, Don Brennan writes the last time he saw a GM and coach "pushing ticket sales was ... hmmm, never" (OTTAWA CITIZEN, 10/22).

ANGELS WITHOUT FIELD? In L.A., Jonathan Lansner wrote if he were the "god of Anaheim ... I'd quickly take the Angels up on their lease termination and tell them today, without any negotiations, they should have their bags packed" once the '19 MLB season ends. Lansner: "I wouldn't see this as Anaheim 'losing' the Angels. I'd view it as the city trading an aging veteran for more promising prospects in the real estate game." If nothing else, Anaheim should "call [Angels Owner Arte] Moreno's bluff." Anaheim has been "good for Moreno." Lansner: "What would the Angels do if they have no home field for 2020? Where would they play?" (DAILYNEWS.com, 10/19).
