Syracuse's apparel contract with Nike is set to expire in the spring, and AD John Wildhack said that the school "continues to have 'productive' talks with the company." He added that the school is "not currently engaged in conversations with any other sports apparel company." Wildhack: "Our desire would be to renew with Nike" (SYRACUSE.com, 10/17).

GAME WITHIN THE GAME: USA TODAY's Edward Baig notes Giants QB Eli Manning is "encouraging young people to learn about finance by helping promote a new version of a trivia-based video game from Visa called 'Financial Football 3.0.'" Manning "doesn’t appear in the game itself," but his participation, and that of Giants RB Saquon Barkley, is "part of a longstanding NFL partnership" with Visa (USA TODAY, 10/18).

CAN I KICK IT? WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY's Kari Hamanka noted online sneaker reseller Goat has "inked a deal" to have Lakers F Kyle Kuzma "serve as the face of its brand." As part of the deal, he will "don various sneakers sourced from Goat throughout the season during and outside of games." Bringing on Kuzma "marks the first time the company is spending to have an ambassador for the brand and follows a flurry of activity this year." Goat has "grown through its digital marketplace that lets people buy and sell sneakers authenticated by Goat" (WWD.com, 10/17).
