Seven Buccaneers players went to Abe Brown Ministries in Tampa on the "second stop on the team's player-driven Social Justice Initiative." Players spent the morning "listening to stories of redemption" as they were "immersed in a classroom setting alongside those currently making the adjustment from incarceration" to the workforce. Among the players in attendance were G ALI MARPET and OT DONOVAN SMITH, members of the team's Social Justice player board. Team co-Owner and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation President DARCIE GLAZER KASSEWITZ also attended (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 10/17).

HELPING HANDS: The Yankees "donated $100,000" to Hurricane Michael relief efforts. Half will go to the American Red Cross and the other to the Salvation Army (NJ.com, 10/16)....The Rays are sending "four trucks of donated water, food and supplies" to Bay County (Florida) today to "help those affected" by the storm. About 20 staffers are "making what will be a 36-hour trip to the Florida Panhandle" (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 10/17).
