Film and television production company Los Angeles Media Fund has launched a sports agency called Beyond Athlete Management that will represent pro athletes, including NBA players. LAMF partners Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman have invested in the agency in which NBA agents Daniel Poneman, E.J. Kusnyer, Jelani Floyd and Mike Naiditch will recruit and manage players. All six will have an ownership stake in the agency. Ownership stakes and other financial details were not disclosed. The firm is based in L.A. with offices in Chicago and Houston. The agents formerly operated independently, but will now work together. The new firm now represents Pistons F Glenn Robinson III, Pacers F Ben Moore, Warriors F Alfonzo McKinnie and multiple pro players in Europe. The firm also represents Broncos WR Courtland Sutton for off-the-field work. Soros, the nephew of billionaire philanthropist and political activist George Soros, and Horsman launched LAMF in '14 to produce feature films and scripted television, but recently launched into unscripted television and events. LAMF financed and produced several feature films, including "Juliet, Naked," which is currently in theaters. LAMF also produced along with Heat G Dwyane Wade and Chance the Rapper the basketball documentary "Shot In the Dark." The agency is looking to represent athletes across sports, Naiditch said. He added that he hoped LAMF’s existing platforms and relationships in music, film and TV production will open new opportunities for athlete clients.
