Robert Kraft's Latest Nike Shoe Release To Benefit Charity

The '18 limited-edition Robert Kraft Air Force 1s, the fifth shoe collaboration between Nike and the Patriots owner, go on sale at the team's pro shop Friday, and Kraft said they will “sell pretty fast.” Kraft, appearing last night on NFL Network’s “NFL Gameday Kickoff,” said Nike Chair, President & CEO Mark Parker five years ago “saw I liked to wear Air Force 1s and he said, ‘Let’s do a line just for you,’ and I said, ‘That’d be great as long as all the money could go to charity,’ and we’ve done that.” Kraft said expected sales from this year’s shoe will net over $2M, which will "go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston.” NFL Net’s Willie McGinest said Kraft and Nike are "not just doing a shoe," noting its charitable impact. Kraft also noted Parker “made a box for me with these shoes from the old Foxboro Stadium.” NFL Net’s Colleen Wolfe: “That’s amazing. The details in just the box alone. The details on the shoes are really, really, cool” (“NFL Gameday Kickoff,” NFL Network, 10/4). Fox' Troy Aikman said of the charitable proceeds from the shoes' sales, "That’s really great for the organization and way to go, Bob Kraft” (“Colts-Patriots,” Fox, 10/4).
