Golden Knights Want To Ramp Up Pregame Ceremonies In Year 2

The Golden Knights had some "tricks up their sleeve" for the pregame ceremonies before their home-opener against the Flyers on Thursday, according to Pete Blackburn of CBSSPORTS.com. For the "ceremonial pregame face-off," the Golden Knights "invited an aerial performance artist to drop in from the rafters and deliver the puck." Meanwhile, Las Vegas "mainstays" Wayne Newton and rapper Lil' Jon were "on the ice for that opening face-off." Blackburn: "It would appear Vegas is sticking to the blueprint they set for themselves last season" (CBSSPORTS.com, 10/4).

GREATEST SHOW ON ICE: Las Vegas-based KLAS-CBS' Ron Futrell reported the Golden Knights' pregame ceremony was "one of the greatest shows in sports last season," and Golden Knights VP/Entertainment Production Jonny Greco will "try to top it" this season. Greco said, "We're constantly trying to improve one another. We can play a song a little louder, we can play a different genre, whether working with our hosts, our PA announcer, our mascots, all of it. We're constantly grading one another because we want to be better. We want to honor our fans and we want to give them a great experience." Futrell said one "great advantage" the Golden Knights have is that being located "in the entertainment capital of the world has its advantages." Greco said Las Vegas is "filled with such incredible entertainers" and is a "collaborative community and to be part of it is beyond any of our wildest dreams creatively." Greco: "To create an environment for these fans and for the city to be proud of with all of this fun creation and entertainment is a dream come true." More Greco: "We can't rest on our laurels, we have a long way to go still. We want to stay hungry" (LASVEGASNOW.com, 10/4).
