The RICKETTS family, which owns the Cubs, is "actively supporting" Supreme Court nominee BRETT KAVANAUGH through its 45Committee, a non profit "closely associated" with the family. The group has "spent $650,000 funding a one-minute TV ad that calls attention to Kavanaugh and his 'honor, integrity and strong moral character.'" Cubs co-Owner LAURA RICKETTS, a "top-tier Democratic fundraiser," is "not part of the 45Committee" (POLITICO.com, 10/1). Meanwhile, Fanatics Founder & Exec Chair MICHAEL RUBIN recently "hosted a private dinner" at his N.Y. home in support of Pennsylvania Gov. TOM WOLF. Guests included Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT, 76ers C JOEL EMBIID and former NFLer TIKI BARBER (PAGESIX.com, 10/1).

OFF-COURT VENTURE: Tennis player ANDY MURRAY owns a "five-star hotel named Cromlix not far from his hometown of Dunblane, Scotland." Murray said his brother, JAMIE, "got married there," and his grandparents, ROY and SHIRLEY ERSKINE, "had their 40th wedding anniversary there." Murray said of buying the hotel, "I thought it could be really cool and something that is really important to me. I’m really happy we did it at the end. It’s done really well, and I get to visit a few times a year and enjoy it" (N.Y. TIMES, 10/2).
