Screen Play: Levi's Stadium Inks Redbox As Bowl Game Sponsor

Redbox will become title sponsor of the annual bowl game played at Levi’s Stadium under a multiyear deal announced yesterday. The game was known as the Foster Farms Bowl from ’14-17, but that deal expired. The ’18 Redbox Bowl will be played on Dec. 31 and will be the only bowl game to air on the Fox broadcast network. It will see promotion across Fox Sports’ college football and NFL properties during the season and in the lead-up to the game itself, something that was important to Redbox in brokering the deal. Redbox Bowl Exec Dir Ryan Oppelt said there are plans to utilize the 500 or so Redbox kiosks in the Bay Area to promote the game. He also said similar activation may be done in the specific team markets once the bowl matchup is decided. Redbox has gone through rebranding efforts recently and saw the bowl sponsorship as a good opportunity for new exposure. Levi’s Stadium officials reached out to Redbox about sponsoring the game and worked directly with the Illinois-based company on the deal. The bowl game is owned and operated by Levi's Stadium.
