College Facility Notes: 'Bama Could Enhance Safety At Bryant-Denny

ESPN.com noted Alabama LB Dylan Moses running into a wall during Saturday's game against Texas A&M "may prompt changes at Bryant-Denny Stadium to prevent similar scary moments in the future." Moses on Saturday "tumbled out of the end zone" and "collided with the knees of a security guard and a wall before staying down for a few moments." On Monday, Alabama coach Nick Saban said that changes "will be made to improve safety for players and field staff" (ESPN.com, 9/25).

ON THE RIGHT TRACK: Purdue BOT Chair Michael Berghoff said that university officials met Sept. 20 with Populous to "begin to piece together" a beginning to the long-planned south end zone renovation of Ross-Ade Stadium. Purdue AD Mike Bobinski said, "I would categorize it as a starting point for a re-imagining of Ross-Ade Stadium and a necessary first step." RIVALS.com's Matt Stevens noted the south end zone and stadium renovation is "seen as the next step in a football facilities overhaul, this initial step coming just 13 months after the opening" of the three-level, 112,000-square-foot Purdue Football Performance Complex (RIVALS.com, 9/25).

INKING A DEAL: UCLA and Pasadena, Calif.-based Wescom Credit Union have agreed to a 10-year partnership. Wescom will pay UCLA, the Rose Bowl Stadium and IMG $38M in partnership fees over the course of the ten-year term. Key elements of the deal include presenting sponsorship of Pauley Pavilion, including permanent signage reflecting "Edwin W. Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom" (IMG).
