McLoughlin's departure from the team was termed as a "mutual agreement" by the SeahawksGETTY IMAGES

Seahawks President & CEO PETER MCLOUGHLIN is moving on and "will be replaced" by COO CHUCK ARNOLD, according to Bob Condotta of the SEATTLE TIMES. Seahawks Vice Chair BERT KOLDE said that McLoughlin’s contract "was coming up, which made it a good time to restructure the organization." The team said McLoughlin was leaving the organization "by mutual agreement." Arnold will now "manage all team business operations and also serve" as First & Goal Inc. President, as well as overseeing management of CenturyLink Field. Kolde: "The organization is running smoothly and things are going well. So again, it was kind of driven by the timing of his contract was coming up." Asked if there is an area of improvement he would like to see in the organization, Kolde said, “I’d like to see us working more collaboratively and more together so we can give our partners an opportunity not to participate with one organization but participate across the platform." Arnold "began his professional career as an intern with the Seahawks, where he became a ticket sales account executive" in '94 and was named COO in '13 (SEATTLE TIMES, 9/25).

TAKING OVER: In Portland, Erik Siemers reports Trail Blazers President & CEO CHRIS MCGOWAN was "promoted" to Vulcan Sports & Entertainment CEO. PAUL ALLEN's Vulcan has investments including the Seahawks and CenturyLink Field, as well as a "collection of museums, theaters and events such as the Seattle Art Fair." McGowan will "remain in Portland to oversee business operations of the Blazers, Moda Center and Memorial Coliseum while also absorbing his new duties." McGowan started "expanding his role within the company a year and a half ago" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/24). McGowan said that each of Vulcan's organizations will "continue to have its won dedicated staff" (Portland OREGONIAN, 9/25).
