Blues' Enterprise Center Unveils $42M Worth Of Renovations

The Enterprise Center in St. Louis has gone through a $42M summer renovation of premium areas, upper deck seats and its atrium. Architecture firm Generator Studio spearheaded the creation of 10,000 square feet of new lower-level premium space where the Blues' offices were previously housed. Generator architects Mike Kress and Jill Monaghan said the Blues' offices were relocated to space in the Stifel Theatre next to the area. That used to be called the Peabody Opera House. The former office space has been converted into two premium club areas including a VIP bar for fans sitting in the first two rows at ice level. “It really was about exploiting an area that need to be exploited,” Kress said.  The renovations started in June and wrapped up before a Thursday concert by Maroon 5. New seats were installed in the upper level. The atrium area was rebuilt adding space for new bars, food stands and team shops. A new 2,000-square-foot Anheuser-Busch Biergarten that has street access has also been added at the hockey arena. Another new premium bar area connects to a new 270-seat premium area with loge seating, Monaghan said. The city of St. Louis owns the arena, which opened in '94. The latest renovations are part of a three-phase, $160M revamp of the arena. The Blues are paying for part of that with the rest coming from sales tax revenue captured at the arena and neighboring opera house. Kress said the next phase of the renovations is still being determined but will include replacement of lower bowl seats.
