ACC Tourney Heading Back To DC In '21, Brooklyn In '22

The ACC will bring its men's basketball tournament back to DC's Capital One Arena in '21 and Brooklyn's Barclays Center in '22. The two arenas have held the past three editions of the event -- '16 in DC and '17-18 in Brooklyn. The '19 tournament is set for Charlotte's Spectrum Center, while Greensboro Coliseum will host in '20 (ACC). In Raleigh, Joe Giglio notes Barclays Center "received mixed reviews for its two-year run." Both events included a North Carolina-Duke matchup, which "helped the attendance totals," though the "early week games, and even the first day of the top four seeds, lagged." DC is "seen as a compromise between the old-line ACC members, who prefer to play the tournament in [North Carolina], and the newcomers" that have joined the conference since '04 (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 9/7).
