LET'S DO IT AGAIN: IT company DXC Technology has renewed its title sponsorship of the IndyCar race at Texas Motor Speedway for '19. Several thousand employees turned out for this year's race instead of the hundreds it expected as part of an internal program. DXC's renewal comes after Iowa Corn earlier this week announced it is not returning as title sponsor of the annual IndyCar race at Iowa Speedway (Adam Stern, Staff Writer).

BIRD ON A WIRE: In Louisville, Lucas Aulbach notes a new version of the Univ. of Louisville's cardinal mascot is "part of a collection that recently debuted from college apparel giant Zephyr Headwear, which designs merchandise for universities nationwide." The character is part of the company's "Japanese cartoon-inspired Tokyodachi line" and is similar to UL's "classic logo, with a couple of twists." The cardinal's face is "missing the teeth that made the official logo ... infamous," and the head is "just a part of a full body" (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 8/23).
